Patient Engagement in Research Opportunity
Study Title: Insights into the Use of Sedative-Hypnotic/Anxiolytics in Primary Care: A mixed-methods study to support self-management strategies in the community

We are currently looking for Manitobans 18 years of age or older who have taken or cared for someone who has taken medications used for anxiety or sleep disorders to join our research team.
Our research is specifically interested in understanding the experiences of individuals who have attempted tapering medications used for sleep or anxiety and the barriers and supports they face.
As part of the research team, you will serve an important role in ensuring our research objectives, intervention, and outcomes will be meaningful to those with lived experiences with these medications. We also are seeking input on the best ways of reaching out to participants for this study.
We are looking for two members to join as a patient or caregiver representative on the research team and up to 12 members on an advisory group.
Total number of positions: up to 14
Expected time commitment will range from 5 to 10 hours divided into 2 to 3 meetings.
Study Period: 2018 to 2020
